Dog licenses expire on December 31, 2011. If you do not license your dog before January 31, 2012 there will be a late charge of $25.00 starting on February 1st. When you come to license your dog please make sure you have the rabies certificate and if its the first time you are licensing the dog and the dog has been neutured or spayed you need to show proof.

The Town of Fryeburg, Maine operates under the Town Meeting - Selectmen/Town Manager form of government. The Annual Town Meeting, is now held in June. The Board of Selectmen are the policy making board and appoint and work through the Town Manager who is charged with the day to day operation of the Town.

General Assistance
The General Assistance Program is designed to help people in emergencies. People may also be eligible to receive other benefits such as food stamps, veteran's benefits, or Social Security income. To request assistance, please contact Kelley Lavoie at the Town Office. In case of an emergency, applicants may contact the Fryeburg Police Department at 935-3323. You must fill out an application which is accepted and reviewed. There are guidelines that you must meet in order to be eligible for the program. The application is private and confidential. A written decision will be issued by the General Assistance administrator within 24 hours of receiving an application.
