April's program speaker will be Kenneth E. Thompson, Jr. from Portland.   Mr. Thompson will be speaking on Fryeburg's founder, Joseph Frye.  Mr. Thompson is also a decendant of Joseph Frye.

Our meetings and educational programs are open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.  The Historical Society's Museum is now opened on Thrusdays from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Storytimes at the Fryeburg Public Library

"Book Time with Your Baby" is offered every Wednesday at 10am. This program is for children birth to 36 months. Storytime lasts for 20 minutes and offers simple stories, songs, and fingerplays for infants and toddlers with their parents.

"Storytime for Preschoolers" will follow at 10:30am for children aged 3-5. This program runs for 30 minutes and includes stories, sing-a-longs, puppetry and more. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children, but may treat this as a first independent activity for their children.

Both programs will be ongoing throughout the fall and winter. Sharing reading time with your child stimulates brain development in infants and toddlers, helps prepare preschoolers for reading, creates excitement about learning, encourages imagination and is both free and fun.

The Circle of Friends Knitting/Crocheting Group meets at the library every Tuesday at 10am. Bring your needles, hooks, and yarn and join us for an hour of needlework and conversation. This year we encourage everyone to join us in making chemo caps that will be distributed to the Oncology Department at local hospitals. Knitting and crocheting patterns will be available. Everyone is invited to bring their own projects as well.
