TOWN OF FRYEBURG
SELECTMEN MEETING
January 6, 2005, 7:00 PM

Attendees: Alan Trumbull, James Dutton, Town Manager Phil Covelli

Mr. Trumbull called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Minutes: As Mr. Dutton was not present at the December 23’rd meeting, the approval of the minutes of that meeting was tabled.

Public Forum: There was no public comment.

Old Town Garage Appraisal Contract: Members of the Board reviewed a contract proposal from Browning Valuation Services, LLC of North Conway. The proposal is for a “complete appraisal summary report in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice”. The fee will range from $1,000 to $1,200, depending on the complexity of the project. After discussion, Mr. Dutton moved to approve the contract as proposed. Mr. Trumbull seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Transfer Station Rates: Don Davidson presented a list of proposed rate increases for various materials collected at the transfer station. Mr. Trumbull suggested that any rate increase proposals for household and commercial trash be decided at a future Town Meeting. Mr. Dutton agreed.

Board members did support investigating the possibility of modifying the rates for certain items for which the Town bears a direct cost to dispose of. Such items include appliances that contain Freon or mercury switches, computer equipment, televisions, and furniture.

Mr. Davidson and the Town Manager were directed to refine the list of items to be considered for rate increases and present them to the board at a future meeting.

Having no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
