BOARD OF SELECTMEN ATTENDEES: Diane Gushee, Allan Trumbull, Harry True, June Irvine Melissa Doeher spoke in Public Forum regarding concerns about an accident she had been in. The Board of Selectmen told her to file a written complaint with the Town. 1 concealed weapons permit was signed. Kristin Tardiff (Poland Springs),
Tom Brennan (Poland Springs geologist), Bill Dick Krasker presented the Government Committee report. The committee is opting to keep the current form of government (Selectmen, Administrative Assistant) but changing the title of the AA to Town Administrator and enacting and Administrative Ordinance which codifies the job description of the Administrator. Jim Dutton spoke about the Town Manager form of government. He feels that job description for Administrator is in essence what a Town Manager does but he would like to see the Town vote for a form of government that can’t be easily changed. The BOS voted (3-0) to table erecting new village speed limit signs until after Town Meeting. June said that the 2000 census figures indicated that Stow and Chatham’s share of Transfer Station charges based on population were 7.94 and 7.16 percent. The BOS voted to charge these Towns 8% of the net operating cost of the Transfer Station in 2003. The Board asked June to check with MMA to see if it is legal to ask family size on a building permit application. The Warrant was signed and the minutes approved. It was voted to go into Executive Session on a personnel matter. When the Board came out of Executive Session it voted to accept Ian Tait’s resignation effective February 6, 2003. The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, June Irvine |
