BOARD OF SELECTMEN
JUNE 27, 2002

ATTENDEES: Diane Gushee, Harry True, Allan Trumbull, June Irvine, David Miles

Diane opened the meeting and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

It was moved, seconded and voted to go into Executive Session to interview a Transfer Station Attendant candidate. When the Board came out of Executive Session it voted 3-0 to hire James Carone as a Transfer Station Attendant at $9.00/hr. It was also voted (3-0) to provide boots for James and Asa immediately.

Nancy Boucher said she had questions for the Board of Selectmen. Diane asked that she write them down, but it was ultimately decided that the BOS would answer her questions if she could wait until the end of the meeting.

Dick Krasker asked that all residents take time to fill out the Government Committee questionnaire.

Allan will welcome the FCRV campers at the Fair Grounds on July 12th at 6:30 p.m.

Diane will find two other judges for the FCRV parade on June 18th at 8:30 a.m.

The BOS approved the Cemetery Committee's proposed projects and agreed to look at the old iron fence at the Village Cemetery to see if they agree with it being taken down.

The BOS signed the MMA ballot for its Legislative Policy Committee.

Allan said he would donate "No Trespassing" signs for the cemeteries if it was decided that it was appropriate.

The BOS set the fee for the Board of Appeals at $50.00 (3-0)

Harry True gave a report for the Saco River Task Force and reported on the Air Boat.
He asked June to write a letter to Marilyn Goodrow to thank her for the use of the Swan's Falls hanger and to let her know she would be absolved of liability.

The Board asked June to write a letter to Eric Carlson giving him until July 10th to reply to their letter of June 25, 2002.xecutive Session to confer with counsel on the rights and obligations of the Board. When the Board came out of Executive Session it voted (3-0) to coordinate with co-counsel the charge to and engagement of the independent investigator.

The Board then voted again to go into Executive Session to discuss the hiring of a new full time police officer. When the Board came out of Executive Session they voted (3-0) to table any action until July 11th.

Nancy Boucher continued her questions regarding the operation of the Town. Buzz Pratt advised the BOS not to answer questions which pertained to the pending investigation.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
