The BOS approved Linwood Buck's request to add the barrels in front of Fryeburg Academy to the Town's Barrel Contract.

The BOS voted (2-0) to endorse a Resolution that the Maine Legislature should act to prevent increases in Workers' Compensation Costs and close the "Kotch" loophole. (2-0)

Bids for Mowing of the Rec. Field were opened. They were as follows per mow:

2002 2003 2004
D & J Lawn Care $225.00 $237.50 $250.00
Sunrise Property Management $300.00 $315.00 $325.00

The bid was awarded to D& J Lawn Care for the 3 year period.

The BOS asked June to write a letter to Bruce Viel asking him to collaborate with the Parks Committee to come up with a proposal regarding charging for parking at Canal Bridge Canoe put-in. (2-0).

The Board approved to permit Stow residents to use the Transfer Station for everything except MSW starting April 20, 2002. June will finish drafting a contract. Seth Turner suggested that window stickers be issued annually to prevent confusion and make it easier for the employees at the Transfer Station. He felt this could easily be done at time of vehicle registration. The BOS asked June to ask the Recycling Committee to come up with a plan. They asked June to look into equalizing yardage charges and to get prices on scales.

The BOS approved Don Butters request to clean up Pond Rd. property without being charged at the Transfer Station. This should be for a one week period only and only for debris from this property.

Wayne Brooking presented the Vehicle Registration update which the BOS accepted (2-0).

Salary increases for 2002 were approved and all employees appointed per the attached list.

Richard Andrews II was appointed to the Parks Committee. Renie Chaplin was appointed to the Beautification Committee.

June told the BOS that Robert Rose had withdrawn his request to have uniformed off-duty officers working at Fiddlehead Campground this summer.

The BOS asked June to ask Gary to come to the next BOS meeting to discuss his staffing requirements.

The BOS asked Paul Ray to buy the necessary cable for the Town's VCR so the BOS meetings can be recorded directly.

The Board thanked the Tree Wardens for their detailed report; the Beautification Committee for the flowers that they planted; Lee Deschambeault for taking down trees at the Town Office.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,
June Irvine, Administrative Assistant
